Our latest book club pick, Rebel by Beverly Jenkins, is set in New Orleans during the Reconstruction era. I am so happy we read this beautiful book – I cried and smiled and swooned while reading about the brave actions of Valinda and Captain Drake as they work to find happiness for themselves and help protect those around them.
This book featured an enemies to lovers coworker relationship and it was so cute and such an engrossing story, I finished it in a day.
I am so thankful I discovered this book. I love Glennon’s personal awakening and advice for centering your own Knowing to achieve personal contentment. She had many interesting things to say about body image, love and parenting.
This book was so cute – a lovable heroine with 50’s pin up style who learns a lot of about life and love during a summer in a California beach town.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for my advanced review copy of this book. I really enjoyed this author’s writing style and this sweet love story but this book did move slowly for me.
I concluded the second book in the beautiful duet – I felt the genuine love between the pair – a love that spanned continents and years. Lennix is a strong and inspiring heroine with Native American heritage she is proud of. Maxim is ruthless and brave and adores Lennix. But I am not sure how much love I have for a billionaire turned politician, no matter how charming he is.
Oh how I absolutely loved this wonderful romance about Poppy, a shopgirl, whose crush, the Duke falls into a coma. She is mistaken for his fiancee and welcomed in by the Duke’s family, with the exception of the Duke’s sexy Scottish half-brother who has suspicions about Poppy. Lovely and just the right about tension, I truly adored this book.
We read Kerrigan Byrne’s How to Love a Duke in Ten Days for our book club pick this month and while I usually love this author, there was a lot I struggled with this book.
I saved the fourth and final book in Lisa Kleypas’s fantastic Wallflowers series for a time when I thought I would really need it. I am so glad I was able to escape into this book during quarantine.
This book challenged my expectations of fate and soul mates but the twist left me feeling a little icky. Read my full review here.
