The Kiss Quotient

By Helen Hoang

What can I say about a book I loved so much, that was perfect in so many ways, and will surely stick with me for a long time? Well, I can give it 5 stars and share some of my favorite quotes and what makes this book so special.

I love reading about characters that are just a little different. For Stella, she is successful at her job, passionate about her career, and seemingly hopeless in social situations. She is autistic, but that doesn’t mean she is incapable of meaningful connection with someone. She just hasn’t found that someone.

Michael is also a little different. He has a passion for, well, fashion. However, that doesn’t pay the many bills he has so he moonlights as an escort. When Stella decides she needs a professional to teach her how to date, she hires Michael.

“She was enjoying this, however. It made her feel brave and reckless.
Her gaze locked on his lips again, and her blood raced with something new: anticipation. “Will you show me how to be a good kisser?”

Michael is so sexy, with his tempting dragon tattoo. Stella is beautiful in her own intriguing way. The chemistry is incredible, the build up of their relationship felt natural, and I never was frustrated or annoyed with either of them. They felt like real people navigating real challenges. All in Silicon Valley, my home!

“Besides, it was getting difficult to concentrate. The sight of his perfect athlete’s body and his excessive tattoo, the feel of his hot skin, and his delicious scent overwhelmed her senses.”

Will I recommend this book? Absolutely, probably for years. Will I read the next book in the series? I am counting down to The Bride Test’s release day next month. Don’t wait another day to read this book. You won’t regret it.

“When she slept, dreams of Michael plagued her, so intense the craving of her body woke her at odd hours of the night.”
