By Tessa Bailey
I loved the first book in Tessa Bailey’s Hot and Hammered series but I couldn’t get into the second book. I decided to give the third book, Tools of Engagement, another try and I am so glad I didn’t miss out on this book.
Bethany is trying very hard to prove to her family – and herself – that she has her life together. By outward appearances, she does. She is beautiful and put together, has a beautiful home straight out of a catalog and drives an immaculate Mercedes. But inside, Bethany is struggling to prove herself to her family and get taken seriously. When the opportunity arrises to step aside from her family and break out on her own, she jumps at the chance.
However she quickly realizes she needs help and hires Wes from her brother’s construction company. Wes is new in town; he has a Texas drawl and swagger and a big heart. He has come to town to take care of his sister’s daughter when she is going through a tough time. Wes’s devotion to the little girl is absolutely beautiful. Wes isn’t a man who knew stability and familial love growing up, so the abundance of love and care that he has for both his niece and Bethany is beautiful.
True to Tessa Bailey’s style of writing, the characters are well developed and funny, the dirty talk is hot and the sex and romance are flaming.
